In the Android or iPhone app, you can carry on with the solo adventure with no network: on the subway, on a plane, in the countryside. All you need is an account.

Getting your device ready

The solo path's quizzes download on their own as soon as you have a connection, and they update the same way when chapters are added or questions are fixed. Nothing blocks the app meanwhile: a small Offline quizzes chip shows the progress, then a message confirms everything is ready.

To check where things stand, open Settings, Offline mode block:

  • Ready: everything is on your device.
  • Update available: tap Update, the download size is shown.
  • Download interrupted: Resume download finishes what was started.
  • Not downloaded: tap Download now.

The Update automatically switch is on by default. When it is off, the app no longer downloads anything by itself and offers you the updates instead. During a download, Stop pauses it until the next time you open the app.

Also open the chapter map once while online: it then stays available offline.

While offline

An Offline chip lets you know. The map and the downloaded levels play as usual. A level that has not been fetched yet reads Not downloaded.

At the end of a game, "Rewards credited when you're back online": your stars, coins and XP count as soon as the network is back, and the level reads To sync in the meantime. The XP Boost does not apply to these games, even if it is active when you're back online. Reconnect the app within 30 days: an older game can no longer be validated. More rarely, a game is refused because the quiz changed in between, its level was not unlocked yet when it was validated, or the phone's date and time were wrong: the app tells you how many games and why.

Your streak counts each day you played offline, on the day you played it. Only the days after your last visit online count: a day before the last time you opened the app with network was not an offline day, and a game dated that day does not extend your streak. That visit online is counted for your account, on any device: a day played offline only counts if it syncs before your next visit online, even on the website or another device. If you play offline on your phone, reconnect it first.

What needs a connection

Multiplayer, Competitive mode, Mastery mode, the shop, refilling hearts, friends and messages, and creating quizzes. These entries stay visible, dimmed, and explain why they are waiting for the network.

On the website

On sparklequiz.fr, quizzes load from the internet: offline solo only exists in the apps.

To free up space, Delete offline data removes the downloaded catalog, and it does not come back on its own: tap Download now whenever you want it again. Games waiting to sync are kept.
