The placement test

Updated on Sep 24, 2026

The placement test drops you onto the solo path at the right spot. If you answer well, you start straight in a more advanced section instead of replaying the first chapters.

When it is offered

  • When you first reach the map, if you have not cleared any level yet: "Where do you want to start?", with two choices, I'm new or I already know my stuff.
  • Once, without pushing, if you have already started the adventure in the first section: "Already know the ropes?", with Take the test or No thanks.
  • As long as you are in the first section and have not answered a test question yet, the Find my level with the test link stays in Your journey, even after I'm new or No thanks.

It needs a connection.

One try only

The test counts from your first answer: you can only take it once. If the app closes midway, you pick up at the same question. If you choose Stop, your try is used and you keep your current spot on the path: you can always move ahead by playing.

How it works

Up to 9 questions, no timer and no hearts: a right answer makes the next one harder, a mistake makes it easier. After each answer, you see the right one. You can Skip this question if you do not know; it then counts as a mistake.

The result

The test shows your score, then suggests a starting section and chapter. You can accept, or Start lower: you can always start lower than suggested, never higher.

  • Everything before your starting point is marked Skipped: 0 stars, but you can replay those levels without hearts whenever you like, to earn their stars and coins.
  • The sections you passed this way show "Passed by the test" in Your journey, until you have replayed and won all of their skipped levels: they then show "Done".
  • The test pays no coins and no XP: your first real game takes care of that.
  • The chapter you enter costs you no heart.
