About SparkleQuiz
SparkleQuiz is an independent quiz platform: carefully written questions, a solo mode that progresses chapter by chapter, and real-time multiplayer: on the web, on Android, and on iOS.
The story
SparkleQuiz was born in 2024, built by Quentin Bastos, a web developer based in France and a lifelong general-knowledge enthusiast. Tired of mobile quizzes overloaded with intrusive ads, recycled questions, and occasionally wrong answers, he decided to build the product he was looking for: a polished experience, fact-checked content, and a competitive mode that genuinely rewards knowledge.
The project began as a side venture, built evenings and weekends. The first multiplayer prototype was tested with friends and family, and their feedback shaped the next steps: more themes, a real progressive solo mode, and a proper native mobile app. Today, SparkleQuiz runs on the web, on Android (Play Store), and on iOS, with new content shipping every week.
Who's behind it
No ghost team here: SparkleQuiz is designed, developed, and written by one person. The code, the game mechanics, most of the question catalog, and the blog articles all come from the same hands: Quentin's.
What that means in practice: when you report an error in a question, the person who wrote it is the one who fixes it. And when something in the app breaks, the loop between feedback and fix is very short.
The mission
General knowledge isn't reserved for a privileged few. Knowing a country's capital, understanding a chemical reaction, or recognising who painted Liberty Leading the People: these are small lights that make the world easier to read. SparkleQuiz exists to make that kind of learning accessible: quizzes that challenge without intimidating, playable in several languages, on every device, with or without a subscription, and an optional competitive mode for those who enjoy the contest.
The approach
The quiz space is crowded. This platform makes a few deliberate choices: questions that are written, sourced, and proofread rather than mass-generated; ELO-based matchmaking that pairs you with players of similar skill; a real native mobile app rather than a hastily wrapped website; and updates that ship every week.
