I'm not getting notifications

Updated on Sep 26, 2026

Notifications on your phone come from the iPhone or Android app. The website doesn't send any: on a computer, you'll find everything under the bell in the app, and by email if you chose it.

Check these points in order.

1. You're signed in in the app

Notifications belong to your account: with no account signed in on this phone, nothing arrives.

2. Your phone allows them

If you declined notifications, Settings › Notifications shows "Notifications are off on your phone" with an Open settings button.

  • iPhone: Settings › Notifications › SparkleQuiz, then turn on Allow Notifications.
  • Android: Settings › Apps › SparkleQuiz › Notifications, then turn them on.

3. Your preferences are ticked

In Settings › Notifications, choose the channels you want for each event (friend requests, messages, invitations…): App (the bell), Email or Mobile. Mobile is the one that sends a notification to your phone. Tap Save Preferences.

4. Quiet hours

If Do not disturb at night is on, reminders (streak reminders, the daily challenge) and room invitations are cut during those hours: they only make sense in the moment and are not sent later. Other notifications arriving during that window are held until it ends. Messages from your friends always come through.

Streak reminders

Streak reminders have their own settings in Settings › Notifications: reminder time, how insistent, notification or email. You get at most one reminder per day, and a time that falls inside your quiet hours is refused.
