How to play SparkleQuiz
SparkleQuiz is a quiz game: you answer questions on dozens of themes, on your own, with your friends or against another player. Everything starts on the home screen, which gives you three cards.
Solo: the adventure
The Solo card takes you to the solo path: chapters of 10 levels on one theme, opening one after another. Tap Start (or Continue once you have played) to pick up where you left off. Every level you clear earns you stars, coins and XP. It is all explained in The chapter map.
The Pick a quiz button on the same card lets you play one specific quiz from the library: it starts in a private room, just for you.
With friends
The With friends card is for playing together, in real time.
- Create a room opens your own room, with a code to share with your friends.
- If a friend gave you their code, type it into Got a code? and tap Join.
- The Or browse live public rooms link shows the games that are open to everyone.
Against an opponent
Find an opponent starts a Quick Game: a random player, 1 vs 1, right now. You pick the difficulty just before the search. The same card holds the Competitive chip, the ranked duels, which open at player level 3.
During a question
Read the question, pick or type your answer, then submit before the timer runs out. Questions come in several shapes (single answer, true or false, ranking, matching, free text…), all covered in Question types.
Need more time to read or to answer? The More time setting (Settings, Game section) doubles the timer of every solo question. It applies to the games you start afterwards, and changes nothing for the daily challenge (nor for the map level that carries its quiz, while it is the challenge quiz), club challenges, Mastery mode or games with other players.
A wrong answer never costs you points, and a half-right answer can still earn part of them: see How points are calculated.
Levelling up
Your games earn you XP, which raises your player level and unlocks achievements: see Player level, XP and achievements.
A few tips
- Read every option before answering: some look very much alike.
- In solo, answering fast earns nothing extra: take the time to think while the timer runs.
- Replay a level to earn more stars.
- Try a theme on the lower difficulties before moving up: see Difficulty levels.
- Prefer a guided tour? See Replay the tutorial.
