Competitive mode

Competitive mode is Quick Game with something at stake: every ranked duel moves your rank.

When it unlocks

Ranked play unlocks at account level 3. Before that, the screen shows your current level and suggests playing solo to level up.

The mode may show Coming soon, or no season may be running: Quick Game stays open in the meantime.

Play a ranked match

From the home screen, in the Against an opponent card, tap the Competitive entry, then Find an opponent. The game looks for a player at your level for a one-on-one duel.

Your rank

• Your 5 placement matches set your starting rank.
• After that, your MMR (your ranking points) goes up with every win and down with every loss.
• Ranks go from Iron to Grandmaster.
• Tap Leaderboard to see where you stand.

If your opponent leaves the match or stops answering, you win by forfeit, and you get the XP (so your season pass and your club too) and the quest progress of a finished game if you answered at least 50% of the questions.

Seasons

Ranked play runs in seasons. When a season ends, your MMR is partly pulled back toward the starting point, and everyone sets off on a new race.
